I wanted to take a moment to share a little bit about what couples psychedelic therapy can actually look like.
I think sometimes it can be hard to picture yourself in the theoretical framework of psychedelic therapy, especially when we’re talking about doing this kind of work as a couple.
So in this video, I share the story of a couple I worked with using psilocybin who had been together for many years but had become really stuck in patterns of resentment, defensiveness, and withdrawal. They loved each other deeply, but were struggling to find their way back to one another.
Through preparation, individual psychedelic sessions, and integration work, they were able to slow down and begin to see what was underneath some of their most difficult patterns.
What was so beautiful to witness was the softening that happened as they were able to connect with some of their vulnerability, shame, fear, and love for each other.
I wanted to share their story because I think it gives a more tangible sense of what psychedelic work for couples can actually look like, and how this kind of intentional work opens new doors for softening, reconnecting, and finding ways back to your hearts.
